Your first thought probably isn't "I'll save money."

Rather, it's "What a hassle."

In defense of the manufacturers, the arduous rebate submission requirements prevent fraud.

On the other hand, sometimes, the rebate check never arrives.

Or, you may get a post card reporting that you didn't submit something, when you did.

You already make photocopies of everything, of course, before mailing.

diglloyd Blog (see March 29th) also suggests photographing the entire rebate submission before mailing.

Then, when you call up the rebate center, you can refute their erroneous claim that you didn't submit the required items.

"I've got a photograph of my submission and the missing __________ is in the photograph."
