3 - Micro Drive Cards

A micro drive is a miniature hard drive.

The zeros and ones are written to a rotating platter by a moving arm.

A micro drive card uses a CompactFlash Type II card chassis.

Therefore, if your camera uses CompactFlash Type II cards, you can probably also use micro drive cards.

They were popular a few years ago because they offered more storage per dollar compared to other card types.

Micro drive cards have two disadvantages:

1) Because they're mechanical, they're less reliable than flash memory cards.

2) They're slower than flash memory cards.
