3 - Lens Distortion

As mentioned, distortion is introduced by lenses.

Software can correct barrel and pin-cushion distortions.

Barrel distortion is an outward-bulging distortion.

Pin-cushion distortion is an inward-bulging distortion.

Here's some software to correct lens distortion.

• DxO Corrects lens distortion, vignetting, lens softness, and chromatic aberrations (color fringing)

• Flo's UnDistort Filter Corrects keystoning, barrel and pin-cushion distortions, and chromatic aberrations

• PTLens Corrects barrel and pin-cushion distortions, chromatic aberration, and vignetting
