Process a JPEG

With a Raw Converter

You can process JPEG files with the Adobe Raw Converter, that is part of Photoshop Elements.

You won't have the advantages of processing from a raw file, such as having more information in the shadow areas.

But, you may prefer the raw-converter style of editing to the Full-Edit style.

Also, in the Adobe Raw Converter, you have the Clarity and Vibrance sliders.

Their exact equivalents are not found in Full Edit.

Experiment!

You can also edit TIFF files with the Adobe Raw Converter.

Windows

Do the following.

1) In Full Edit, go to File > Open As.

2) Click (once) on the JPEG file that you want to edit.

3) In the Open window, look for the Open As box.

4) Select Camera Raw (not Photoshop Raw) in the Open As box.

5) Click Open.

The JPEG will open in the Adobe Raw Converter.
