Preparation

1) Preserve your original file.

If you haven't already done so, go to Preserve Your Original File.

2) Create a Background copy layer.

If you haven't already done so, go to Create a Background Copy Layer.

Magenta Filter

You remove green with a filter that's the complementary color to green—magenta.

Use the chart below to determine which filter color to use with other colors.

Red Cyan
Green Magenta
Blue Yellow

1) Create a Photo Filter adjustment layer.

The Photo Filter window will open.

2) Select Magenta.

3) The default density is 25%.

Try this density.

For this example, a density of 40% was needed.

q

4) Click OK (Pre-8.0 only).

Compare

Compare the two versions by deselecting the eye icon of the Background Copy layer.

The magenta filter removed the green in the background.

With Magenta Filter

However, the magenta filter wasn't needed in the foreground.

The folders looked fine without the magenta filter.

Now they're too magenta.

We'll use a mask to block the magenta filter from affecting the foreground.
