Using Picasa (Windows Version)

Picasa 3.6 doesn't allow you to open photographs in Photoshop Elements from Picasa.

Please disregard the instructions below.

Do the following to open a file in Photoshop Elements from the Windows version of Picasa.

1) Open Picasa.

2) Browse to the thumbnail of your photograph in the folders and albums in the Library on the left side of your screen.

3) Right click on the thumbnail.

4) Click Open With.

5) Click Photoshop Elements.

The file will open in Photoshop Elements.

Where Are the Files?

Thumbnails of your files are located in folders and albums in the Library on the left side of the screen.

The actual files are not located in Picasa.

Rather, they're located in My Pictures (XP & Windows 7) or Pictures (Vista), or are somewhere else on your hard drive.

You can use Picasa to navigate to where a file is located.

Right click a thumbnail, and click Locate on Disk.

Or, select a thumbnail, and go to Folder > Locate on Disk.

Delete & Picasa

Deleting Thumbnails

You can't delete just the thumbnail from Picasa.

If you right click on a thumbnail, and select Delete from Disk, you're going to:

• Delete the thumbnail.

• Delete the file from your hard drive.

Deleting Folders

If you right click on a folder, and select Remove from Picasa, you're going to:

• Remove the folder from Picasa, but not from your hard drive.

If you right click on a folder, and select Delete Folder, you're going to:

• Delete the folder from your hard drive.

Hide a Thumbnail or Folder

What if you don't want to see your klinkers, but you don't want to delete them from your hard drive?

You can hide a thumbnail or folder.
