Photoshop Elements: Split Toning, Tips: Passage of Time & Organize Your Photographs (Revised)
When you double click on a file, your computer is set to automatically use a certain program to open the file.
If you use a Windows computer, the file will probably open with a Microsoft viewer.
If you use a Mac, the file will probably open in Preview or iPhoto.
Would you like to click a file and have it open in Photoshop Elements instead?
If so, click the appropriate choice in the menu below.
Do the following.
1) Right click a JPEG file.
2) Click Open With.
3) Click Choose Program.
4) In the the Open With window, do the following two things.
• Select Photoshop Elements.
If it isn't there, click Browse.
Go to My Computer and use the path below.
Profiles are located on the path below.
If you can't find the folders below on your computer, go to Hidden Files & Folders.
C: > Program Files > Adobe > Photoshop Elements > Photoshop Elements x.0.exe.
• Select Always use the selected program to open this kind of file.
Do the following.
1) Right click a JPEG file.
2) Click Open with.
3) Click Choose Default program.
4) Do two things in the window:
• Select Photoshop Elements.
If it isn't there, click Browse.
Go to Computer and use the path below.
Profiles are located on the path below.
If you can't find the folders below on your computer, go to Hidden Files & Folders.
C: > Program Files > Adobe > Photoshop Elements > Photoshop Elements x.0.exe.
• Select Always use the selected program to open this kind of file.
1) Go to iPhoto > Preferences > General.
2) Look for Edit Photo: and select In Photoshop Elements.
3) Select a photograph in iPhoto, click the Edit button below the thumbnails.
The photograph will open in Photoshop Elements.
You can also leave iPhoto as the default editor, but can go to Photoshop Elements with a right click on a contextual menu.
Do the following.
1) Go to iPhoto > Preferences > General.
2) Look for Edit Photo: and select In Photoshop Elements.
3) Click OK.
4) Go back to iPhoto > Preferences > General.
5) Set Edit Photo: to In main window, In separate window, or Using full screen.
You set iPhoto to use Photoshop Elements as the default editor.
Then, you switched back to using iPhoto as the default editor.
Now, iPhoto will remember that Photoshop Elements is the external editor.
When you want to edit with Photoshop Elements, do the following.
Right click the file and click Edit in external editor.
If your mouse only has one button, press Ctrl and hold, and click.
Do the following.
1) Right click on a photography file.
2) Click Open With.
3) Click Other (bottom, left).
4) Click Photoshop Elements and select Always Open With.
