Basics First

If you're not familiar with metadata, go to Metadata.

Viewing Metadata with Full Edit

To view the metadata using Full Edit in Photoshop Elements, go to File > File Info.

Click the tabs.

Or, use the menu located in the upper-right corner of the window.

Viewing Metadata in the Organizer

When using the Organizer in Photoshop Elements, view the metadata in the Properties panel.

Enter the Same Metadata Repeatedly

You may want to enter the same information for every photograph.

You can create a metadata template.

Do the following.

1) In Full Edit, go to File > File Info.

2) Enter the information that you want in the metadata template, and delete any existing unwanted data.

For example, enter your name and copyright information.

Copy and paste the copyright symbol (©).

3) Export the metadata using the Export option in the drop-down menu at the bottom of the window.

5) Change the name of the template file, such as your_name_template.xmp.

6) Click Save.

Apply the Metadata Template

To apply the metadata template to photograph files, do the following.

1) In Full Edit, go to File > File Info.

2) Select Import on the drop-down menu at the bottom of the window.

3) Select one of the three choices.

5) Click OK.

5) Select the template file, such as your_name_template.xmp.

6) Click Open.

Printing Metadata

You must use another program to print the metadata.
