Guides for Positioning

Guides are vertical and horizontal lines that you create where you need them on your photograph.

Use Guides if you're:

• Creating a collage or something similar.

• Placing text on a photograph.

The guide lines won't print.

Go to View > Ruler if the rulers are not visible.

Then, go to View > New Guides.

Select Horizontal or Vertical, and the position.

Guides can be solid or dashed, and can be any color.

Go to File > Preferences > Guides & Grid (Windows) or Photoshop Elements > Preferences > Guides & Grid (Mac).
