Move Photographs

From Mac Photos App

To Lightroom

As described, the Mac Photos app imports your photographs automatically to a special folder.

This folder is inaccessible to Lightroom.

You must export your files from the Photos app—and then—import them into Lightroom.

There are two export methods here:

Tip: export images from Photos for Mac in their original format

Export the photographs to a folder on your Desktop, such as Photos App to Lightroom.

After exporting from the Photos app, import the photographs into Lightroom.

Use Photos to Disk ($12.95) to export batches of photographs from the Photos app.

The program can replicate the albums you have in the Photos app:

You can customize your folder structure to group your media files by year, month or day. For albums, Photos To Disk uses the folder structure defined in Photos.
