Already Using Lightroom

If you already have a Lightroom catalog on your computer at home, go to Already Have a Catalog.

If not, read on.

Make a Lightroom Catalog

You're going to use Lightroom to organize and edit your photographs.

Before you can start using Lightroom, you have to create a Lightroom catalog.

The Lightroom catalog is a storage space.

Your organizing and editing instructions are stored in the Lightroom catalog.

Again, the catalog is a storage space.

Only Do This Once

You only need one Lightroom catalog.

Create a catalog, and don't create another one.

Seven Steps

There are seven steps.

They're easy.

We'll do the steps in class.

Get an external hard drive or a flash drive.

Create a catalog.

Create a folder for your photographs.

Open Lightroom.

Import your photographs of the assignment into Lightroom.

Make a collection of your best photographs from the assignment.

Export the photographs in your collection.
